Plate 8. The "O"
Flaw occurs nearly in all of the Stamps of Plate
8. AA to OJ shows state 2. Many ot the units were repaired and
are classed as State 2. As in other die 1 Plates the repair was by re-entry,
because of the nature of the re-entry process the "O" flaws
were obliterated. Experimental paper was first used an a few printings
of plate 7 the rest of the paper being used on plates1b, 8, 9, and 10.

GIVEN THAT THIS ITEM IS BEING PLATED FROM A SCAN THE FOLLOWING OBSERVATIONS ARE MADE:- The stamp displays a very definite
"O" flaw so it can only be plate 7(black only), 8,9,10. The date stamp of 25th April 1841
would be in the time line for - - - - |

As
to valuation It has a very fine but heavy MX cancellation, appears to
have 4 superb Margins.
Current CV is £70.00 off cover (Major Retailers sell for £25.00); a premium should be expected for a fine example on cover say 2.5 times? |
